US-based organisation Athlete Ally has cut its links with tennis legend Martina Navratilova over comments she made about male-to-female transgender athletes.

The company actively campaigns for LGBT sportspeople, and took exception to comments made by Navratilova in the Sunday Times this week, where she it was ‘cheating’ for a transgender woman to compete against other women.
