The pandemic has caused us to think a little differently about lots of things, even giving birth.

There's been a marked increase in inquiries and bookings for home birth services since March, with many women unhappy with the restrictions surrounding partners in the maternity hospitals.

Once such mother is Kirsty Blake Knox, columnist with the Irish Independent. She has decided to give birth at home with her second baby.

She spoke to Kieran about coming to the decision, and was joined by Ali Murphy, a self-employed community midwife in Dublin.
