A new system called Progressing Disability Services sets out to standardise and regionalise the services offered by the HSE for children with disabilities. This would mean that the therapists would be grouped together in teams, and then sent out to the various clinics and schools who need them.
You might remember that Anne Rabbitte, Minister of State Department of Children, Disability, Equality and Integration, came on this show in April and said she had put a stop to on-site therapists from being removed from special schools.
Well it seems that hasn’t been upheld in some circumstances.
