Figures provided by Health Minister Simon Harris to Fianna Fáil Health Spokesperson Stephen Donnelly show that hospitals now have 450 consultant jobs which are not filled on a permanent basis?

The reason?  Well it’s been linked to trying to recruit new entrant specialists on salaries that are 30% less than their established colleagues.
