An article recently caught Ivan's eye in relation to having children.
Chrissie Russell wrote in the Journal about the difference between having one child and two children - how eating out is impossible, how bedtime becomes a military operation and so on.
It got him thinking. It’s always assumed that if you have one child, that you should probably have more. Questions often get asked after you have your first - “well, when is the next one coming along?”.
Is that fair comment? Or is it totally inappropriate to pass judgement on somebody else’s family planning?
Newstalk Breakfast's Susan Keogh, mother of 1, told Ivan her story, and the stigma that exists around having 'just one'. Chartered psychologist Peadar Maxwell also lent his expertise.
