Another mountaineer this week died after summiting Mount Everest, bringing the death toll for the 2019 climbing season to eleven people. Last week, a search was called off for Irishman Seamus Lawless who had been missing. The Trinity College professor fell during his descent from the mountain at an altitude of 8,300 metres, in an area known as the balcony near the summit. He had reached the summit earlier that morning.

Jason Black who himself climbed Everest in 2013 joined Ivan on this evenings Hard Shoulder to discuss why the climb can be so dangerous.
