You will have heard that the Cork Mail Centre in Little Island is to close with the loss of 216 jobs.

An Post officials travelled last night to inform employees of the move. 

The closure will happen on a phased basis between September 2019 and March 2020.

Tom O’Callaghan is a postmaster in Limerick, and also an advisor to the Post Office Unit of the Public Banking Forum of Ireland, and told Ivan why he believes the post office will be dead in two years.
