Italian children can be turned away from school if they cannot prove that they have been properly vaccinated.

It follows months of debate in Italy over compulsory vaccination.

Parents could be fined up to €500 if they send their unvaccinated children to school, with children under six potentially turned away.

Is this the way forward?
