One woman has been hospitalised and another woman has been traumatised after been bitten by a false black widow spider in Waterford.

Spiders have been terrorising some houses in the Waterford and South Kilkenny region and it has lead to serious blood infections for a number of victims.

Maria Condon from Ferrybank is a mother-of-three, who has spent six days in hospital following her bite by the spider and she told Ivan what happened, then John Dunbar, Venom Researcher at Venom Systems Laboratory in NUI Galway told listeners how to spot these creepy crawlies
