Farmers are protesting across the country today, highlighting the upcoming changes to the Common Agricultural Policy payments they receive, and the expectations for environmental changes.

But with a growing environmental crisis, domestic targets for climate action and Ireland’s role in the Paris Climate Agreement, there are calls for action from the agricultural community to reduce emissions and the impact on biodiversity.

Brian Rushe is the Deputy President of the IFA, and Sadhbh O’Neill, Policy Co-ordinator with Stop Climate Chaos, joined Joe Molloy on the Hard Shoulder.
