According to a Behavior and Attitudes poll in The Sunday Times this weekend, Sinn Fein are now polling at 35 per cent and hold a significant lead ahead of Fianna Fail - who is polling at 20 per cent. Fine Gael are at 17 per cent, almost three per cent down from election time, with the Green party down one per cent to six, and Labour at three per cent.
The Sinn Fein party leader, Mary Lou McDonald is the the country's most popular leader at 53 per cent - up 13 per cent and she is polling 22 points ahead of Fianna Fail's Micheal Martin.
