The number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals overnight surpassed 1,500 for the first time.

This means there were 1,575 patients in hospital this morning, with 145 admitted in the last 24 hours.

As an example, Cork University Hospital was caring for 126 Covid-19 patients at the weekend — around 20% of all of its inpatients.

To discuss, Jonathan was joined on Monday's edition of The Hard Shoulder by Jason Van De Velde of Cork University Hospital, who is also Medical Director and Founder of West Cork Rapid Response.
