“Out of Control and Extremely Dangerous” is the situation currently in some Irish hospitals according to the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation due to overcrowding.
Over the month of August, there were 823 patients on trolleys in University Hospital Limerick, the highest across the country. Cork University Hospital and University Hospital Galway also experienced massive bed shortages with 738 and 563 patients respectively on trolleys across the month.
