The government is being asked to clarify how much investment will come from the private contractor involved in the National Broadband Plan.

According to reports this morning, the cost is expected to exceed €5 billion – with €3 billion coming from the government.  Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe went against advice that the plan is a massive risk to state finances and a leap of faith by the government.

Well, we thought we’d get the views of two men that held the Communications portfolio, when this process was evolving, so Green Party leader, Eamon Ryan and Alex White, who is contesting the Dublin constituency in the European elections for the Labour Party joined Ivan in studio.
