Facebook and Instagram face limits on letting under-18s "like" posts on their platforms while Snapchat could be prevented from allowing the age group to build up "streaks", under new rules proposed by the UK's data watchdog.

A new legally binding social media code has been introduced, imposing conditions on how technology companies treat under-18s, with the threat of fines totalling billions of pounds.

Should we look at similar here in Ireland?

Daragh O’Brien, managing director at Castlebridge joined Ivan, along with Brenda Power, columnist with the Daily Mail and Sunday Times, to debate whether the UK have done a good thing here.
