Today's figures from the CSO show that Ireland’s unemployment rate rose to just over 23% in the second quarter of 2020.

This means that just over 530,000 people are currently out of work, but this figure does include those on the PUP payment.

Economist and Chief Executive of the ESRI Alan Barrett gave his reaction to Mark on Tuesday's edition of the Hard Shoulder.
