Three-time World Cup winner Pele is "depressed" and reluctant to leave his house because he cannot walk unaided due to his poor health, his son has said.

The Brazilian legend will be 80 in October and was treated in Paris in April for a urinary infection.

It brings to light the struggles many have with getting old.

Consultant geriatrician and former IMO President Christine O'Malley is 62 years of age, and has at times struggled with some of the health constraints of getting older.  She gave Ivan a candid account of what she's had to face.
