The European Commission has today stated that it will not sign off on Ireland’s latest Common Agricultural Policy strategic plan unless we show more ambition on meeting climate, environment and biodiversity targets.
The commission took issue with the growth of the dairy sector since 2015, which they say has had very substantial implications for agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. So, what more must Irish farming do to combat climate change?
