Dan Palotta is one of the key charity experts in the US, he's an activist and fundraiser.

He's helped to raise more than a billion dollars across various charities in the US, but how has he done it?

While you might think it's about keeping overheads down, he says you have to invest back into the charity in order to make more money. Pay the CEOs, pay for fundraisers and then you're more likely to get a higher return.

It sounds counter intuitive, but he says we need to rethink how we run charities.
