The SuperValu Christmas ad was released this week and was warmly received, with lots of people sharing their reaction to it online.
But what makes a great Chrismas ad? And why do some of them stand the test of time more than others, like the ESB ad from the 1980s, or the Barry's Tea radio ad from the 1990s?
Kieran spoke to Neal Davies, CEO of BBDO Dublin, a company that's been involved in iconic ads such as the Guinness one with the memorable tagline "Even at the home of the black stuff, they dream of a white one."
They talked about why some ads have all the right ingredients but don't strike the right tone, and why some ads return to our screens and radios year after year.
