As the country mourns the death of legendary singer Christy Dignam, Newstalk is looking back on a ‘singular, stand-out’ talent’s life.

The Aslan frontman died peacefully at his home yesterday following a long battle with cancer.

Tributes have been pouring in ever since, with Hothouse Flowers musician Fiachna Ó Braonáin this morning remembering his friend as one of the great rock n’ roll singers who was never afraid to ‘speak, tell and indeed sing’ his truth.
