"Girl A" is a gripping story that follows the life of Lex Gracie and her six siblings, who after their father’s suicide and their mother’s death in prison must return to the ‘House of Horrors’ they grew up in. The novel is narrated by Lex, who at 15 years old, escaped from her parents and raised the alarm as to what was happening to them. After their escape, the siblings are placed in different adoptive homes, where they receive varying levels of love and support. The novel deals not so much with trauma, but with the long-term effects on a young, warped mind. Its author Abigail Dean joined Pat this morning to chat about her new book.
