The National Reptile Zoo opened to the public in 2006 to try to reconnect people with the natural world around them, using some of our amazing scaly friends as a medium to do this! They have over 150 animals in their care, and they range from the smallest of geckos and turtles, up to our giant pythons and alligators. They moved from their older location to a newer facility, 3 times the size in a more central location in Kilkenny City, re-opening 2 months before the lockdown in March 2020. James Hennessy from the National Reptile Zoo joined Pat with some interesting residents of the Zoo as part of our 'Keep It Local' campaign.
