Ann Rose Lovett, a 15-year-old student from Granard, County Longford, Ireland, tragically passed away on January 31, 1984, while in labour next to a grotto. The death of her newborn son occurred simultaneously. The circumstances of her passing significantly contributed to a critical nationwide discussion regarding childbirth out of wedlock.
