The Irish border has again been the focus of much attention, with threats to invoke Article 16 of the Brexit Treaty and threats to staff at ports in Northern Ireland. 
It’s not the first time that the border has been problematic during Brexit  and is undoubtedly not the last. Jonathan Healy has been looking at how lines drawn on maps have historically caused trouble
