From today, staff and pupils at secondary schools in Northern Ireland will be offered Covid-19 tests.

The lateral flow antigen tests will not be compulsory, but any staff or pupils who are eligible are being urged to take two tests a week.

The Public Health Agency in the North say the aim of this rollout is to reduce the risk of the virus being transmitted in schools; so basically they are looking to make schools safer.

Our Newstalk Reporter Barry Whyte has been speaking to teachers and parents who think schools could be a lot safer and asks if more widespread testing should be the answer.
