Supporting Irish businesses is vital this year, so in the lead up to Christmas Newstalk is featuring different local businesses around the country from a variety of sectors. Pat Kenny chats with Niamh O’Riordan from the Irish Woollen Workshop.
The Irish Woollen Workshop has been in business for almost 35 years selling 100% Irish sheepskin and wool which come in a variety of products.
Based in Sligo, the Irish Woollen Workshop’s products are graded in the top 5% in the world, and are hand checked before final crafting. All their products are natural and are cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
One of the biggest parts of the business is the exportation of their raw materials. China is one of their biggest customers for these.
Some of the products they sell include baby, medical and home décor. Their bestselling product would be their woollen slippers known as ‘the huggables’.
