Earlier this year Susan spoke to Sinead Tighe, full-time carer to her son Daniel, as a part of the 'Family Carers Ireland National Respite Weekend'.
Together they discussed some of the issues facing carers at home and the feelings of isolation they can sometimes experience when so much of the duty of care is placed upon them with little or no support.
While it is fair to say we have all been feeling the effects of the Covid-19 crisis of late, Susan thought now would be a good time to catch up with Sinead to talk through the unique set of challenges she - like many carers around the country - faces as the current crisis goes on and the ways in which social-distancing and travel restrictions have made a difficult situation even more challenging.
