Irish authorities are investigating reports that a former member of the Defence Forces has been captured in Syria on suspicion of supporting Isil. 

Lisa Smith, originally from Dundalk, Co Louth was detained by US forces along with her two-year-old son in northern Syria.

Former Air Corps member went to Syria in 2015 and married Isil sympathiser soon after.

Kevin Doyle from the Irish Independent speaks to Susan Keogh on Newstalk Breakfast.
