On this date in 1967, a 39-year-old was unceremoniously executed in Bolivia. In time, his image would be described as becoming "as iconic as the Nike swoosh logo or the golden arches of Mcdonalds'. That's somewhat ironic - given the 39-year-old was Ernesto "Che" Guevara. The story had curious Irish dimensions, including media fascination with the young revolutionary when he landed on Irish soil.
