For listeners of a certain age, the name of Peig Sayers could be enough to trigger Leaving Cert sweats - and even though she’s been gone from the syllabus for over 25 years, her name is still synonymous with the whole Leaving Cert process.

But is it time to rethink Peig Sayers? A new exhibition at the Museum of Literature Ireland, MOLI, seeks to reintroduce her to us, placing this writer in her proper international context, and finds the warmth and humour within one of the all-time great memoirs.
