Yesterday, the GAA took its moment in the Decade of Centenaries with a stunning remembrance of the events of Bloody Sunday. A recent television documentary, Bloody Sunday 1920, marked the national broadcaster’s contribution, exploring the day in great detail. We all, it would seem, are much more familiar with the story than we were before.
And yet one plot line of the day, a raid on The Gresham Hotel, remains a near mystery. Two men were killed there on Bloody Sunday - but even a century on, it is unclear if they were spies at all, or just poor unfortunates who somehow ended up on a hit list.
Gavan Reilly is joined by Donal Fallon for another episode of Hidden Histories to discuss.
