This week brings much reflection on the First World War as Friday, the 11th day of the 11th month, will see Armistice Day.

Economist, barrister, Westminster Parliamentarian, poet, writer, and more besides, Tom Kettle was one of the most remarkable Irish lives lost in the war.

One of the leading Irish nationalist voices of his day, his decision to enlist in the war effort certainly raised some eyebrows and his death had some surprising impacts at home.

Donal Fallon joins Gavan for another episode of Hidden Histories to discuss.
