This year one of the subjects which dominated discourse in Ireland was the housing crisis.

But amidst all that was written about housing in the present - and the future - there was one beautiful book that looked at housing in the past, and an innovative approach taken in the 1970s.

Adrian Duncan’s 'Little Republics: The Story of Bungalow Bliss' - a book published by Jack Fitzsimons - details a movement that transformed the appearance of rural Ireland, and which was not without its critics.
