"Every individual TD will now have to assess what is the best thing to do, either to back the government for more of the same or to stand with us. It should just be said that so far most of the opposition have indicated that they will in fact support the no confidence motion, but I don't think that the outcome is a foregone conclusion. I think anything in political life is a foregone conclusion". Mary Lou McDonald, the Sinn Fein leader had said to Gavin that she doesn't accept that motion of no confidence in government is not going to pass.
