Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons has officially become a Cork man.

As well as an award he was also presented with a Cork passport during the 'Person of the Year' ceremony today.

Speaking to Cork's RedFM, Jeremy joked that he would be using his Cork passport at the airport this evening.

Meanwhile Rob Heffernan has been named as Cork's 'Person of the Year'.

The world race walking champion and gold medallist was presented with the achievement following his nomination last November.

Speaking to Cork's RedFM, Rob says he is so proud to be a Corkman.
