Republic of Ireland and Norwich City striker Adam Idah has been ruled out for the rest of the season because of a knee injury.
The Cork native requires surgery on a meniscus problem on his knee, which ruled him out of the recent Premier League game against Manchester City.
Idah had earned a run of starts in the Norwich team since new manager Dean Smith took over, so it's a real blow for the 21 year old, who has made 17 Premier League appearances in total for the Canaries this season.
Idah scored his first Premier League goal in the win over Everton last month and started the subsequent top flight games against Watford and Crystal Palace.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game with Liverpool, Smith has sympathy for Idah's plight.
Follow up on Idah: "It's a blow because Adam's a young player with an awful lot of potential to get better. Josh Sargent scored his first PL goal recently so there's plenty of players there that we hope can share the load with Teemu." #NCFC

Norwich's other Republic of Ireland international, Andrew Omobamidele, is also sidelined with an injury.
The defender has a back problem and is to see a specialist.
Stephen Kenny will be watching with interest and disappointment, as the Republic of Ireland play friendly matches against Belgium and Lithuania next month.
