Sligo Rovers can close the gap on Airtricity League Premier Division leaders St Patrick’s Athletic to two points if they beat Cork City on Monday evening at The Showgrounds (7.45pm).

That game is one of five in Series 30 of the Premier Division campaign down for decision on Monday evening with Sligo, who have now gone 588 minutes without conceding a goal at The Showgrounds, facing a Cork City side that have won four of their last five league games. St Patrick’s game in Series 30 away UCD doesn’t take place until Friday evening.

Both Sligo and Dundalk can guarantee their places in Europe next season with home wins on Monday evening. Third place Dundalk face fourth place Derry City at Oriel Park and victory will also ensure that the Lilywhites finish in the top three for the first time since they won the League title in 1995.

A Dundalk win would mean that fifth place Shamrock Rovers could leap-frog over Derry into fourth spot with a win over Bray Wanderers at Tallaght Stadium (8pm) and the Hoops go into the game on the back of an eight game unbeaten run against the Seagulls, who have failed to register a win in their last nine games.

Limerick, who are looking for their third win in seven days, host a Bohemians side that is also looking for a third consecutive victory after recent wins over Shelbourne and Derry City. Indeed, if Bohs win and Shelbourne lose to Drogheda United at Tolka Park, then the Gypsies will have avoided automatic relegation by ensuring they cannot finish bottom of the Premier Division. A Bohs win, coupled with defeats for Shelbourne and Bray, would ensure Premier Division safety for the Dalymount Park side.
