At 32 Alan Brogan has nothing to prove to himself or anyone else in Gaelic football.
The two-time All-Ireland and nine-time Leinster Championship winner bounced back from injury this season as the Dubs once again seized the provincial title but fell short in the All-Ireland series when they lost to Donegal in the semi final.
After that game it was falsely reported that Brogan was retiring and he was quick to correct those stories saying he had yet to make up his mind about his inter-county career.
The Bord Na Mona O’Byrne Cup marks the start of the new season on the first weekend of January and Brogan knows if he wants to play on he will have to make up his mind soon.
The former All Star spoke to me about how and when he will decide if he will continue.
