Andy Moran hasn’t played since last year’s All Ireland quarter final with Down, when he injured his cruciate ligament, but the 29 year old is now hopeful of returning to action in time for Mayo’s Connacht Championship opener against Galway, in Pearse Stadium on May 19th.
The former All Star spoke with Newstalk’s Oisin Langan and talked of the pain of a long term injury, including the hard work and misery of missing football.
More importantly, he warned of the need to be cautious about his return and how the fears of suffering a recurrence of the injury plays on a player’s mind.
He also told Oisin about talking to Henry Shefflin about his injury.
