Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has joined German side Hannover 96 on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Ivory Coast-born Swiss international has struggled for game-time this season, making a single League Cup appearance.

The 25-year-old has been behind Thomas Vermaelen, Per Mertesacher and Laurent Koscielny in the centre-half pecking order at the Emirates.

However the loan deal does not include an option to make it permanent at the end of the season.
