Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has admitted his part in a La Liga match-fixing scandal during his time at Real Zaragoza.
However, he told prosecutors in Madrid that he did "what the club asked me" according to El Mundo Deportivo. He also reportedly said that he did not benefit personally.
A 2011 fixture between Zaragoza and Levante is at the centre of the investigation. Gabi scored two goals in the 2 - 1 win in a result which saved Zaragoza from relegation.
Gabi has been a key component in midfield for hometown club Atletico Madrid, although he was not involved in last night's 1 - 0 win over Juventus in the Champions League.
