It's 15 years since Clare won provincial honours and 16 since they won the All Ireland hurling title. But the Banner have the chance to stake a claim for the Liam McCarthy Cup after reaching September's decider.
Their opponents in the final are Cork who defeated them in the Munster semi-final but Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald thinks it will just be "another game".
"They didn't beat us controversially. They beat us well. They were way better than us on the day. Fair play to them but it's just another game. All we can do is go out there and do our best," he said, also admitting the fact that a dozen players from his panel are in U21 action adds extra difficulties.
Limerick manager John Allen saw his team's semi-final defeat as a missed opportunity as he told Oisin after the game.
"We missed too many frees. We missed too many chances. We didn't impose ourselves on the game. Clare took control from the beginning. We were chasing the game all the time," said Allen of the 1-22 to 0-18 defeat.
