Yesterday was a proud day for Jim Gavin after leading Dublin to All Ireland glory in his first year in charge.
However, while the game was anything but a one-sided affair, the foul count was very much one-sided.
The Dubs conceded 32 fouls, while Mayo conceded just 12.
Gavin was at a loss to explain the discrepancy after the game when speaking to Newstalk's Oisin Langan.
He said: "It's beyond me to be honest. I just can't fathom it. It would be low to say that Dublin was a cynical side. We certainly work hard on the art of defending and the technical aspect of tackling. Half of our sessions are on tackling technique so it's quite frustrating. It's something we have to look at and see if we are doing anything wrong."
