Tottenham manager Andre Villas Boas says Gareth Bale will not be involved in Spurs' season opener against Crystal Palace because of injury.

The Wales winger missed last night's friendly international with a foot injury.

Reports have suggested that Bale and Villas Boas have fallen out as Real Madrid continue their pursuit of the 24-year-old.

The attacker has also allegedly told his Spurs team-mates that he will not play for the club again.
