So the deal is done and we're just waiting on Sky's yellow ticker tape to tell us that Gareth Bale's protracted and quiet frankly really annoying (in a length it's dragged on sense) move to Real Madrid has been complete right?

Well this morning we got a Bale related yellow line but it wasn't the one we were expecting.

Instead of telling us that a saga which seems to have ran longer than Coronation Street was over it was revealed that it’s taking another twist with Tottenham looking at other offers for the Welsh winger.

Due to the price the clubs that are capable of paying an estimated €100 million are limited with Manchester City and maybe Barcleona among them but it doesn't seem like either has an interest or need to bring the 24-year-old in.

Last week it seemed like it was at the dotting I's and crossing t's stage however today’s news seems to suggest that one of the party's involved is playing hardball.

As with so many aspects of this transaction we can only speculate as to what’s going on, Sky's Bryan Swanson says Tottenham aren't keen to sell but Bale is eager to leave so they would cash in rather than keep an unhappy player, where does it go from here? We'll wait for that yellow line at the bottom of the screen to find out!
