After his heroics in last year's All Ireland final, Dublin full forward Bernard Brogan is enjoying a little downtime before the National League campaign gets underway.
Although it's not relaxing given that he is rehabbing from an injury.
The 29-year-old joined us the show tonight and he's raring to get back on the field.
"I don't like recovering from injury. When you're in the gym with your team-mates, it's grand but having to go exercise by yourself is tough," said Brogan who also emphasized that there should be no worries about his hunger or that of his team-mates after last year's league and All Ireland achievements.
"When you win All Irelands, it gives you that taste. It's not going to be easy this year but we'll be doing everything we can to put ourselves in contention.
"The first All Ireland win in 2011, everything was just at a million miles an hour. We didn't know where we were. We were in schools and hospitals and everything was just a million miles an hour. This time, we've been there and I was able to soak it up more and the moments with families and friends. I stood back and took it all in more than the last time. But hopefully it's not the last time."
While 2013 ended in glory, the early rounds of the Championship were not easy for Brogan who battled to regain his form.
"I thought I was moving quite well during the league but then I picked up a couple of knocks towards the end of the league. I never got that momentum going again and anyone who's played as a forward, you're playing your best when you play consistently and getting extra practice in. I wasn't able to do that during the start of the Championship and it affected my form. I just didn't get that momentum that I like to get," said Brogan who was able to return to scoring form in the semi-final against Kerry and the All Ireland final against Mayo.
