Bill Goldberg is to make his long-awaited return to professional wrestling.
The 49-year-old is to perform for the first time since WrestleMania XX since April 2004. 12-year-ago, Goldberg fought against Brock Lesnar, and it looks like that's who he will make his return against.
Goldberg was an icon of the late 1990s, and became the WCW Champion in July 1998. The former American footballer went 173 matches before eventually losing a match.
After the closure of WCW, Goldberg eventually moved to WWF, where he stayed for a year. His final match came against Lesnar at Madison Square Garden.
On Monday night's Raw, Goldberg's rumoured return was all but confirmed, when he was challenged to meet Lesnar in an upcoming match. It's expected to take place at the Survivor Series event on November 20th.
While the challenge was previously unannounced, it was expected. Goldberg will officially accept the offer next Monday night.
The 49-year-old has previously stated he wants to return to wrestling to allow his son see him perform in the flesh for the first time.
