Grand National winning jockey Rachael Blackmore, trainer Henry De Bromhead and flat rider Colin Keane have been honoured at the HRI awards.

Tipperary native Blackmore made history back in April by becoming the first ever woman to ride the winner of the Aintree Grand National aboard 'Minella Times'.

She has won the Irish Racing Hero Award, which also marked her achievement in riding the most winners at the Cheltenham Festival.

Waterford handler De Bromhead is a deserved recipient of the National Hunt Award for his incredible training exploits in winning all three of the main races at Cheltenham - the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold Cup - and the Aintree Grand National.

Keane, from Meath, took home the Flat Award for his success in the saddle as he rode 141 winners to win the title for a third time.

For her work during the pandemic, senior medical officer of the IHRB, Dr. Jennifer Pugh, has won the Contribution to the Industry Award.

The Horse of the Year is Honeysuckle, the mare who remains unbeaten and won the Champion Hurdle for Ireland at Cheltenham.

The Emerging Talent Award went to Letterkenny jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle, who was crowned champion apprentice jockey.

John Nallen, who played a key role in the early days of Gold Cup winner 'Minella Indo' and 'Minella Times' - won the Point to Point Award.

The Ride of the Year award went to Darragh O'Keeffe for his never say die effort aboard 'A Plus Tard' in a three mile chase at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival.

Paul Hennessy saddled 'Heaven Help Us' to win at the Dublin Racing and Cheltenham Festivals and he claimed the National Hunt Achievement Award.

And trainer Ado McGuinness sent out 'A Case of You' to claim the Group One Prix De l'Abbaye at Longchamp and he has won the Flat Achievement Award.

Blackmore is on the shortlist for the BBC World Sport Star Award this weekend.
