The fact that Samuel Eto is 32 doesn't seem to be putting Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho off as the former Inter Milan, Barcelona,  Mallorca and Real Madrid forward prepares to join Chelsea from crumbling Russian club Anzhi who are keen to get some high earners off the books following their owners financial misfortunes.

The Special one likes what he knows and he knows Eto'o having managed him to a treble at Inter Milan in 2010.

Cameroon international Eto'o is famous for big goals including strikes against Arsenal in the 2006 Champions league final for Barcelona and against Manchester United in the 2009 decider.

Willian has already agreed to join from Anhzi and Eto'o will be part of the near 40 million euro package but is he the ideal signing in the absence of Wayne Rooney who seems highly unlikely to leave Manchester for London?

His style has certainly changed in recent seasons but even in his Champions league winning season under the Special one in 2010 for Inter Milan Eto'o was more of wide man than an out and out striker and remains the same now although he also drops into the hole at times, remind you of anyone and how they are deployed? (I’m talking about Rooney just in case you’re wondering)

Would Eto's like to play under his old boss again? Well these quotes from a recent Daily Mail article seem to suggest he would:

"There is only one Jose Mourinho.'

'I have played under a lot of great coaches - but there is no other character in the game like Jose.

'He is one of the best coaches in the world - and we had a lot of success together at Inter Milan. I would like to have the chance to play under him again - because it is never boring when Jose is around.

'Of course Chelsea are a great team - and when we have all the offers on the table then I will discuss with my agent and see what my next step is.'
